The internet is a wonderful tool and a wonderful place to play, learn and work. But, no one can say that it's easy. So, we have made it a mission to make SILK2.com as easy as possible. The following are some tips and site secrets that will make you more knowledgeable and productive in your pursuit of information on this site.
Come Often. At least once per month.
Visiting the site on a regular basis will allow you to keep up with what's happening in the world of SILK2. It will also hone your web and site navigation skills so that moving around the site becomes easy.
Each month you will see new articles and information presented in the various pages and departments. Generally, the site is on a monthly publication schedule, but there will be considerable overlap from month to month on important information.
Dial-Up is a No-No.
The way this site was designed precludes it's efficient use on slow dial-up access. DSL is the way to go and today is almost as cheap as dial-up.
More Viewing Space.
The most popular internet browser software by far is Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE). Chances are, you are using it right now. It is by far the recommended browser for this site. Most IE users aren't aware that there is a simple way to get more screen viewing room. More screen space means easier surfing and less confusion and need to use the scrollers. Assuming you are using IE, just press the F11 key on the top row of your keyboard and watch how the busy menu bars at the top all go away. To get them back, just press F11 again. You can do this anywhere on the internet, no matter what site you are visiting.
Even MORE Viewing Space
If you are using the Internet Explorer browser, look to the left. Is there a window or area that holds a list of web sites. If so, that area is called the Favorites window. You can get rid of it and have much more viewing space available by simply clicking on the black "X" in the upper right corner of that window. Make sure you DO NOT click the white on red "X" in the upper right corner of the main window. To show the Favorites area again, just select View->Explorer Bar->Favorites from the IE menu at the top of this page.
Participate.
Your participation is key to the success of this site. SILKs products were designed primarily from input received from happy customers. This site will be no different. That's why we have embedded many different feedback links for your use in letting us know what you think, good, bad or indifferent. Please use them.
JOIN
Soon you will have the ability to join either our consumer or professional Web Clubs so that you can receive benefits not available to everyone. There is no charge.
